Responsible use
Last updated: 19 June 2026
Meridian is built for people who love driving — and who respect the road, the law, and everyone else on it. This page sets out the behaviour we do not condone, whether you're navigating solo, riding in a convoy, or using any feature of the app.
It complements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Breaching it can lead to losing access to Meridian, and serious or illegal conduct may be reported to the relevant authorities.
01 Safe and legal driving
Meridian exists to make every journey calmer and safer. We do not condone:
- Speeding or exceeding any posted limit — for any reason
- Reckless, dangerous, or aggressive driving — racing, street racing, "spirited" group runs, tailgating, weaving, or showing off
- Distracted driving — holding or handling your phone at the wheel. Mount it and set your route before you move
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs you
- Following any instruction that would require you to break the law or drive unsafely — Meridian is an aid, never an authority
02 Convoy conduct
Convoy is for people travelling together by choice — not for dominating the road. We do not condone:
- Using a convoy to block, obstruct, or intimidate other road users — rolling roadblocks, blocking junctions or roundabouts, or "claiming" lanes
- Coordinating racing, speeding, or any law-breaking through a convoy
- Bunching up, chasing, or driving too close because the map shows someone just ahead — keep safe distances at all times
- Pressuring anyone to keep up, run lights, or take risks to stay with the group
03 Antisocial behaviour
Everyone who uses Meridian represents the community. We do not condone:
- Excessive noise, revving, or exhaust antics meant to disturb others
- Intimidating, harassing, or endangering pedestrians, cyclists, or other drivers
- Organising or joining unauthorised car meets, gatherings, or street "takeovers" through Meridian
- Trespassing or driving on private land, closed roads, or restricted areas for "routes" or content
04 Location, privacy, and consent
Live location is powerful, and it can be abused. We do not condone:
- Tracking, stalking, or monitoring anyone without their knowledge and consent
- Adding people to a convoy who haven't agreed to share their location
- Sharing, screenshotting, or republishing someone's live location to harass, dox, or endanger them
- Using Meridian to follow or surprise a person against their wishes
05 Safety alerts and hazard data
Speed-camera and hazard alerts exist to make you a calmer, safer driver — not to game the system. We do not condone:
- Using camera or hazard alerts to speed between cameras, or to beat average-speed zones
- Using any alert to evade law enforcement while breaking the law
- Submitting false, misleading, or malicious hazard reports, or tampering with shared safety data
06 Vehicles and the law
You are responsible for the vehicle you drive and the rules where you drive it. We do not condone:
- Using Meridian to operate or conceal an uninsured, untaxed, unregistered, or unroadworthy vehicle
- Using the app to avoid lawful checks, enforcement, or penalties
- Ignoring local driving, licensing, emissions, or vehicle laws wherever you are
07 Respect for other people
Meridian is a shared community. We do not condone:
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour of any kind
- Impersonating another person, or using offensive or misleading display names
- Spamming, scamming, phishing, or otherwise exploiting other users
08 Respect for the service
To keep Meridian safe and sustainable for everyone, we do not condone:
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, scraping, or tampering with the app or our systems
- Circumventing subscriptions, entitlements, paywalls, or other access controls
- Commercially exploiting any part of the service without our written permission
- Attempting to overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to our infrastructure
09 Reporting and enforcement
If you see behaviour that breaches this policy — on the road, in a convoy, or on the platform — tell us at contact@novusstudio.co.
Depending on the severity, we may issue a warning, suspend features, or permanently remove access to Meridian. Conduct that is illegal or puts people at risk may be reported to the police or other relevant authorities. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service; where conduct also breaches the Terms, the Terms apply in full.
