Meridian Drive is a convoy navigation app for groups travelling in multiple cars or motorcycles. Every driver follows the same destination while the live convoy map shows who is ahead, who is behind and when the group needs to regroup.

How Meridian keeps a convoy together
1. Create the convoy
A driver creates a named convoy and chooses the destination. Meridian generates a six-character join code that is easy to read aloud or share before setting off.
2. Join from each vehicle
Each signed-in driver enters the code in Meridian Drive. The route and live convoy context then appear on their device. Private browser-view links use a separate high-entropy credential so the join code is not the public location key.
3. Drive with shared context
Meridian updates the convoy map while the journey is active. Drivers can see whether the group is together without turning the trip into a stream of phone calls.
Who is it for?
Convoy navigation is useful whenever people share a journey but travel in separate vehicles:
- friends taking a multi-car road trip;
- car clubs heading to a show or organised drive;
- motorcycle groups and touring clubs;
- families travelling to an event in separate cars;
- RV, caravan and overland groups;
- support vehicles accompanying a ride.
Why a destination pin is not enough
Sending everyone the same address solves only the final destination. Groups still split at junctions, stops and traffic lights. A purpose-built convoy experience adds the missing group state: where the other vehicles are, how far the formation has spread and whether someone has dropped behind.
Privacy by design
Location sharing is limited to an active journey or convoy. Meridian does not sell location data. Shared live positions are removed from Meridian's servers within 24 hours of the last update or convoy ending. A browser viewer link should be treated like any private sharing link and sent only to people who should see the journey.
